Shutters alone can never be a blackout product. Even though light won’t come through the actual shutter material, there are gaps around the panels and louvers for light to bleed in to the room.

To overcome this and to block out the light we can install a blackout blind behind the shutter. The blind could be operated by either opening the shutters and manually close the blind or, the more popular choosing motorised blackout blind behind the shutters which can be controlled by a tough of a button.
